Other Products from Valdron Inc
Valdron Inc began with two books, Multiverser: The Referee's Rules, and Multiverser: The First Book of Worlds. Since then, our product line has doubled to include Multiverser: The Second Book of Worlds and our first novel, Verse Three, Chapter One.
It might be thought that this is very little for a game company to accomplish in the time we have been working; we admit that the going has been slow--but are encouraged by the progress that has been made. Here are a few of the things we have available or forthcoming.
- Thanks to our association with Cafe Press, we can offer a collection of Multiverser merchandise plus a separate collection of Nagaworld merchandise. Sure, everyone does that now--but no one has the images and ideas we offer. The image of the fighter in leather passing the dice to the hand of the alien is on our long sleeved T-shirt and available in a full-sized full-color poster. The slogan on our coffee mugs, Ever have the feeling you've never been here before?, is ideal for anyone who is useless before that first cup of coffee. The cover image from Verse Three, Chapter One is striking and strange, a perfect T-shirt design for those who are "out there", in the best sense of the phrase. Check it out, and let people know about the great game.
- Our Referee's Support Site has not only printable pages from our books, but also forms that will help any referee run his game more smoothly. More than that, we've started adding links to fan-created materials. Also, we're very pleased to be associated with the incredible game Legends of Alyria from Dark Omen Games, which includes interfacing rules in the back, so that Multiverser characters can become characters in that game, adventure with in it, and take skills and equipment from it into other worlds.
- M. Joseph Young's Game Ideas Unlimited series originally published at Gaming Outpost is now being republished in eight volumes, in partnership with Cafe Press.
- We would be amiss were we to fail to mention that M. Joseph Young's M. J. Young Net web site includes sections that provide support for Multiverser. These are discussed in our support site, but the Martial Arts in Role Playing Games section makes running martial arts in play rather simple, and the Temporal Anomalies in Popular Time Travel Movies section displays the application of the time travel theories used in the game.
- The novel, Verse Three, Chapter One, is continued in a sequel, Old Verses New. This text has gone through editing, and at present we are organizing the artwork for the cover and interior in anticipation of the release of this second novel. The adventure is slated to continue in For Better or Verse, the draft of the text ready to go to an editor, Spy Verses, which is currently being written, and an as yet untitled fifth novel already started after that. Those who enjoy the vicarious adventures of other versers have much to anticipate there.
- Yes, there is a Multiverser: The Third Book of Worlds coming. Again it will include seven worlds, nine playable scenarios, and maybe none of them the sort of thing you would have done on your own. It includes The Playground, an underground world based on one of those children's play areas but populated with the survivors of an apocalypse; Why Spy, in which the player character is quickly and easily drafted into Her Majesty's Secret Service; Orc Rising, a post-fantasy world in which elves, dwarfs, and humans are building primitive technologies and in which the treatment of their orc slaves may be a critical issue; The Vorgo, first a scenario reminiscent of Army of Darkness in which the player character is immediately recognized as the supernatural deliverer who needs to help save the world from the undead threat, then a contingent scenario in which he returns to a modern museum in which his statue confronts him, commemmorating his heroism, and turning into a mystery; Dark Honor Empire is a fairly standard Oriental setting but that the ninja are the heroes trying to save the people from the oppressive empire--and in the parallel version, it is all set in a twentieth century level of technology; The Web is a horror scenario from the mind of E. R. Jones, and the stuff of nightmares, in a universe in which one can breath and swim through the viscous atmosphere of outer space, but the only thing resembling celestial bodies are those huge glowing spider-like webs; and finally, Lilith's World by master Multiverser referee Kyler Young is "out there in the best tradition of Multiverser worlds", a world within a mind within the world--but I dare not say too much about it, as it will blow you away when you read it. Editing proceeds on this, as it hurtles toward publication.
- We have begun work on a new series of downloadable e-books under the title Multiverser Triple Play. Each will contain three worlds with built-in playable scenarios ready for use in your Multiverser game, and easily adapted to other game systems. The first, a collection of three horror scenarios, is in the final stages of preparation; another offering three space travel worlds is close behind it, and several others are in the works.
- There is a full core design of a Multiverser Collectible Card Game. It's difficult to describe it in a few words, but it brings some revolutionary ideas to the collectible card game world.
- There are prototype designs for three board games. Board games are notoriously expensive to produce and difficult to market, but we are looking forward to the time when these can become a reality.
This is the tip of the iceberg. We've kept very busy with convention demo materials, online forum games, articles everywhere, and more.
